Backpacking Trip of a Lifetime

We took a 5 day backpacking/camping trip across California...from the Lost Coast Trail in Kings Range National Conservation Area to Yosemite to Kings Canyon National Park to Sequoia National Park. We hiked a billion miles and our legs are incredibly sore, but we had the time of our lives.

Laguna Beach

We love spending time in Laguna Beach. Today we took a picnic lunch and watched the waves and saw 8 dolphins and a bunch of sea lions and pelicans...so much fun.

Duck's Playoff Game

I got free tickets from work to Thursday night's Duck's vs. Shark's playoff game. Duck's won 4-0. We had an okay time, but decided hockey just isn't our game.

Trip to Vegas

We took a quick trip to Vegas this weekend to visit my brother, Jared, and his family. They lived in Germany before moving to Vegas, so we are enjoying having them this close. We got a tour of Nellis Air Force Base, which was cool. Jared (aka Major Nelson) enjoys working for the Air Force and talked to us a lot about that. Jeanette is lucky enough to stay home and take care of their wonderful kids. Tanner loves attending Green Valley Ranch High School and is almost 16 and can't wait to start dating. The girls, Maddie, Emily and Becca are growing up so fast and are full of energy. They love playing together, especially swimming in their pool and spa. We sure had a great time hanging out with them, they are such good people. We sure love you guys.

Of course, we took advantage of the long drive through the desert and stopped to smell the flowers a few times...

Happy Easter!!

Today we celebrate our Savior's life, resurrection and atonement. I know the Savior lives and loves us. I am so thankful for the gift of the atonement so that we can repent and be made clean again. I know the gospel of Jesus Christ is true and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is His church. I know President Thomas S. Monson is the Lord's prophet on the earth today and he leads and guides us by the will of the the Lord. I know Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and restored Christ's church on the earth again. I know the Book of Mormon is true. How lucky we are to have these wonderful blessings in our lives. My heart is truly full. Happy Easter Everyone.

Joshua Tree National Park

We took a trip to Joshua Tree National Park and absolutely loved it. We hiked up Ryan Mountain. The desert scenery was gorgeous...we'd never seen anything like it. And we're already planning a return camping trip soon.
